As I prepare to begin my new job as the Technical Lead on the Novus project at Monsanto my mind is ripe with thoughts, ideas and concerns. There are many challenges to be faced in the new role, many new things to learn and a whole new group of people to whom I must prove myself. These are typical challenges that are faced when beginning a new job and they are challenges that I look forward to mastering. There is also much that I look forward to including a possible trip to India and a chance to design, architect and build another world class system.

I leave behind a group that has made great strides in the past 15 months. There is much more that I could have offered the team in the next two or three years. However, I am certain that the team will continue to make great strides without my help. This team has a solid set of goals and a roadmap that will help them attain these goals. I am most disappointed in the fact that I will not get to continue to work on the project that I've worked so hard on for the past 15 months. I am comforted by the fact that the system will be left in capable hands. Additionally, there is always the possibility that I will have the opportunity to make an impact in this area through our organizational virtual teams.
