Well friends we are no closer to moving into our new home today than we were approximately a month ago when I last wrote. Don't get me wrong, they've done work to the house but the sewer and road troubles being experienced have not improved.
Front View - 2/4/2005
If you've been watching the pictures you'll notice the changes from the front of the house. They include: finished siding, nearly finished shutters and garage doors.
Kitchen Tile - 2/4/2005
The above picture is the recently laid kitchen flooring. This was recently laid and so was the tile that we selected for the foyer. This is a big step in the right direction for completing the house, from the inside anyway.
Sewer Path - 2/4/2005
The above picture is the one that worries us most. If you can notice the orange arm at the far end of the dirt trail, that is the ditch digger. It has to dig all the way from where it is to past our house on the right before they pour the road. Right now the ditch digger is digging at a rate of about a 10 cubic feet per day. At that rate the road is probably over a month away. Aaahhhh!!!!
Ditch Digger - 2/4/2004
This is the ditch digger from closer up but in the same position as in the last picture. You can see the remenants of the rock that has been excavated from the site. There is a lot more rock to the right of this view so the situation is worse than it looks.
I've already had my sister Amanda, the lawyer, send the builder a letter letting them know that we are none too happy with their progress but what can you really do. The builder said that they would refund our money plus $14K in appreciation, but its not really the money that bothers us. We really just want to be living in our home and enjoying the work involved with making it a home, things like having birthday parties, Christmas and other memory making events.
I've decided not to visit the home site again until the beginning of March. It is just too painful to see the house getting done while knowing we are no closer to moving in than we were a couple of months ago.
