Closing Out 2005

2005 is three hours from coming to a close and I find myself reflecting on my life events from the past twelve months. Here is a quick recap, the good and the bad (in no particular order):

1. The birth of my third daughter, Abbie Grace.
2. We fulfilled a dream by moving into our newly built house in St. Peters.
3. Witnessed the beginning of a third divorce in my wife's family.
4. Watched as a person close to us went to jail for multiple DUI offenses.
5. Watched as my six year old started her first year of full-time school.
6. Participated in the second year of a ground breaking technical leadership program offered at work.
7. Celebrated birthdays for my two girls and watched them grow another year older.
8. Suffered the loss of a friend (35 years old) to a heart attack.
9. Wrote my first, albeit minor, Ruby on Rails application while learning the Ruby programming language.
   

As far as years go this was a good one for me and my family. We are looking forward to making 2006 just as good.
