AWS Elastic Beanstalk
Amazon announced a new service called AWS Elastic Beanstalk. At this time Elastic Beanstalk is in Beta and only available to Java developers. The name implies that service will grow to meet your needs and Amazon promises that it is impossible to outgrow. They also tout it as “Easy to Use” while still giving developers full control of the AWS resources powering their application.
Appcelerator aquires Aptana
Appcelerator acquired Aptana giving the new entity a combined application development base of more than 1.5 million developers. The acquisition of Aptana allows Appcelerator to incorporate Aptana’s leading IDE for web applications into Appcelerator’s exising RAD environment for native mobile, desktop and tablet applications. Look for Appcelerator to significantly improve developer productivity and cloud connectivity in the near future.
